Town of Rolesville Partners with TPMA on Affordable Housing Plan

(Rolesville, North Carolina) – The Town of Rolesville has hired consulting firm TPMA to undertake the creation of an Affordable Housing Plan that will identify and seek to address the area’s needs for affordable housing. TPMA will work with Town staff and Town Board of Commissioners to establish a long-term vision, including short-term strategies, recommendations, and tools for immediate implementation that will address affordable housing needs across the Town’s entire planning area.

"We are excited to have the conversation about affordable housing with our community there is much to learn and consider for Rolesville’s future,"  commented Meredith Gruber, Town of Rolesville Planning Director.

As the cost of housing continues to increase throughout the region, the Affordable Housing Plan will provide guidance in the development of a variety of housing types to provide diverse and affordable housing options for people of all income ranges to accompany the rapid increase in single-family housing developments throughout the Rolesville area. In September of this year, the median sale price for a home in Rolesville was $590,000, representing a year-over-year increase of 18% and a 76% increase over the median sale price five years ago (Redfin.com).

“We are excited to work with the Town of Rolesville and key stakeholders to identify and address needs relating to housing. The Affordable Housing Plan will identify actionable solutions to help the Town increase the variety of housing choices and opportunities that will address affordability, housing conditions, and equity.” said Aaron Finley, Director of Housing and Community Development for TPMA.
