Rolesville Food Security

In March 2019, the Town of Rolesville Board of Commissioners endorsed Wake County’s Comprehensive Food Security Plan. The vision of the Food Security Plan is to have a food-secure Wake County, where ALL people have physical, social, and economic access to safe, nutritious, culturally appropriate, and affordable food.

Northern Community Food Security Team

The Northern Community Food Security Team (NCFST) was created to develop and launch a viable food security plan for northern Wake County that aligns with the  Capital Area Food Network (CAFN) plan. NCFST works to help community members, food security organizations, resource experts, and other stakeholders develop activities, policies, and partnerships that will move the county toward food security and a sustainable food future.

• Holiday Food Drive  
  • The Northern Community Food Security Team is collecting donations for those in need this Holiday Season. Donations will be accepted from November 10, 2025, to December 15, 2025. All donations will be given out at the Holiday Food Giveaway on December 19, 2025.
     

1. Purchase goods from a local grocery store.

   1. List of Food Donations Needed:
      1 Box of Stuffing
      1 Box of Mashed Potatoes
      1 Large Can of Yams
      2 Cans of Green Beans
      1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
      1 Box of Fried Onions

   2. Monetary Donation to The Downtown Rolesville Farmers Market
       

2. Bag goods together and drop them off at a designated drop-off location.

• Holiday Food Giveaway

Northern Community Food Security Team(NCFST) is hosting a Holiday Food Giveaway on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 am in the parking lot of 203 E Young St, Rolesville, NC 27571.

• Mobile Market!
  • The Northern Community Food Security Team is partnering with Ripe for Revival to offer a monthly mobile grocery store on the second Thursday of each month from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Northern Regional Center, 350 E. Holding Ave.
  • The pay-what-you-can Mobile Market aims to make fresh and local produce, proteins, dairy, eggs, and other food products accessible and affordable to all, regardless of their budget.
  • The Mobile Market posts ‘suggested’ prices on all items on the bus. Once the shopper has gathered the food they want, they will ring up at the register and receive a ‘suggested price.’ If the shopper can afford to pay the full amount they may, if they cannot, they can choose to ‘pay what they can.’When shopping, there are some limits on the amount of protein, dairy, and eggs a consumer can purchase, but no limits on produce. Both cash and card payments are accepted. The Mobile Market is open to EVERYONE!
