Checklists:

The Town of Rolesville has a new development review application portal where you can apply online, make payments, and track projects. Visit https://app.govwell.com/rolesville to get started.

  • Land Development Ordinance (LDO) Text Amendment - An applicant-initiated request to modify/change language within the Land Development Ordinance (LDO).
  • Property Owner Consent Form- All applications must include one (1) property owner consent form (per owner) per PIN (Parcel Identification Number) with the Financially Responsible Party identified.
  • Rezoning Map Amendment - A Legislative decision of the Board of Commissioners to voluntarily change the Zoning District of a property.
  • Sketch Plan Meeting Request - This is a meeting request to discuss a prospective development or subdivision with Town Planning staff; it is non-binding and non-committal.
  • Special Use Permit - A Quasi-Judicial, Evidentiary Hearing decision by the Board of Adjustment (BOA) to permit a Use identified as "S" in Section 5 of the LDO (Permitted Use tables).
  • Voluntary Annexation Petition -  A Legislative decision of the Board of Commissioners for a request to annex a property into the Town Limits.
  • Zoning Variance Application - A Quasi-Judicial, Evidentiary Hearing decision by the Board of Adjustment (BOA) to modify an eligible standard within the LDO.
  • Zoning Verification Letter - An administrative letter from Staff that confirms and details the existing Zoning entitlement of a property.

Change of Tenant Application - For all business owners who wish to lease a space in an existing building, several steps must be taken before you can open your doors for business.  

  1. Determine if your business is allowed in your desired location by checking IMaps and the Town of Rolesville's Land Development Ordinance.
  2. Depending on the use, modifications to the tenant space may require an NC Building permit.
  3. If your business would like a permanent exterior sign or a monument sign, please visit the Sign Permit page for additional information on the permitting process and applicable ordinances.

     

Food Trailer/ Truck Application- Food trailers and trucks require a temporary permit to operate in the Town of Rolesville. Please visit LDO Section 5.2.C. Food Trucks for additional information.

Home Occupation Application- Home Occupations require annual approval. Please visit LDO Section 5.2.B. Home Occupations for additional information.

Sign Permit (Temporary - i.e., Construction, Special Events, Street Banner, Temporary Directional Signs) - Temporary Signs do not require an NC Building permit. Depending on the application type, a sign may be approved for 30-180 days. Please visit LDO Section 6.1.N. Signs for more information.

Temporary Use (Flower/Fruit/Tree/Seasonal Sales)- Temporary uses and structures shall be controlled by issuance
of Temporary Use Permits for uses not to exceed three (3) months duration during a
