MAY 5, 2026 — The Town of Rolesville is pleased to announce Megan Sabba has been selected as the 2026 Trail Art Winning Artist.
Specializing in acrylic painting, Megan also explores mixed-media techniques, as seen in her winning submission, Sea Birds.
In addition to her personal artistic pursuits, she serves as an Art Assistant at The Sunflower Studio in Wake Forest, where she continues to grow under the guidance of watercolor artist Linda Burrell.
Her role in the local art community reflects both her dedication to her craft and her enthusiasm for supporting and learning from fellow artists.
Megan draws much of her inspiration from her family life, particularly her husband and two young boys. Whether she’s designing imaginative Halloween costumes or collecting seashells during family beach trips, these experiences directly influence her artistic vision.
Her piece Sea Birds, constructed from hot glue and real shells, captures this personal connection to nature and family moments. While the materials make the artwork largely weatherproof, some elements are delicate and require careful handling during the installation process.
Megan’s work stands as a testament to how everyday experiences and loved ones can shape meaningful, community-centered art.
Trail Art is an award-winning initiative by the Town of Rolesville Parks and Recreation Department that combines the arts with the natural beauty of our greenways and trails. We’ll be placing two of Sabba’s art pieces a day somewhere along our greenways for the entire month of July. Those who find the treasures get to keep them.
This program won the North Carolina Recreation & Park Association's Arts & Humanities Award in 2022. The award recognizes innovative and effective arts and humanities programs throughout the state.
