Press Release: August 5 Fire Official Update

Rolesville, N.C. – The Town of Rolesville Fire Department is providing an official update regarding the fatal residential fire that occurred on August 5, 2026.

The victim has been identified as Amy Baird Kamm, 51, of Rolesville, North Carolina. Ms. Kamm was the sole occupant of the residence at the time of the fire. The Town of Rolesville extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Kamm.

At approximately 1:37 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the Rolesville Fire Department and surrounding agencies responded to the residence in the 800 block of Willow Tower Court. Rolesville Fire Department units arrived at the residence within four minutes and encountered a working house fire with heavy fire conditions through the roof. Firefighters immediately initiated fire suppression and search operations.

During interior operations, conditions deteriorated and a portion of the second floor collapsed due to fire-related structural damage. The fire was brought under control in approximately one hour. Approximately 30 firefighters from the Rolesville, New Hope, and Wake Forest Fire Departments responded to the incident. No injuries to fire personnel have been reported.

Following fire suppression operations, Ms. Kamm was located deceased within the residence.

Following a thorough investigation led by the Wake County Fire Marshal's Office, with assistance from the Rolesville Police Department and state and federal investigating agencies, the cause of the fire has been classified as undetermined.
