On April 20, Town Manager Kelly Arnold presented the Mayor and Town Board of Commissioners with a balanced Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-22, covering the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. The public is invited to comment on the proposed budget at a public hearing on Tuesday, May 4.
The Strategic Plan adopted by the Town Board is prioritized and addressed throughout the recommended budget, in order to advance the Vision and Goals for the community.
The property tax rate is proposed to remain at the current rate of $0.46 per $100 assessed value. No change is recommended to the solid waste fee of $22 per month. Several changes have been made to the schedule of fees, which has not been updated in many years, to better reflect the cost of staff time. This budget allows service levels to be maintained and to grow proportionally with increases in population.
