Zumba

Description: Come out and join us for a workout like no other!  We will teach you steps like Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Hip-hop, and much more.  This will be a high cardio workout where you will see results take place. Let's dance the calories away with a new dance fitness class. Pre-Register and save on classes! Drop-in option is also available for purchase each week. Cash is welcome but REC1 account is required to attend.

Adult Fitness and Conditioning

Description: This class is a high-intensity, full-body workout. The class begins with a cardio warmup, followed by strength (muscular) training, and ends with a series of cool-down exercises. The exercises  a be modified based on the needs of the participants, and the transitions will be gradual. Participants should bring a towel and plenty of water.

Gentle Yoga

Description: Always wanted to give yoga a try? Need a gentle way to get moving again? Want an easy-to-follow class welcome to all? Gentle Yoga is a great way to restart or continue your healthy lifestyle; no experience needed! In this class, you will learn breathing techniques, stress relief, and joint-friendly stretching and movement. Bring a mat and wear comfortable clothing. Come see why yoga is for every stage, every age, every body!  

Instructor: Sheila Flanagan is a Rolesville local with a lifelong love of health and fitness. She loves to introduce fitness to people of all ages.

Krav Maga Self Defense

Description: Get home safe while getting in shape with Krav Maga. In this class you'll learn about situational awareness, verbal scenarios, defending against grabs, chokes, etc. Our classes will teach you to trust your instincts. You'll also learn to manage your fear in a situation. Krav Maga is simple and straight to the point for anyone to learn. Empower yourself and feel great about it with Krav Maga.  

Instructor: Quintin Byrd, who founded and opened Carolina Fighting Arts in July 2019, has been training in Krav Maga since November 2009. He has been teaching since 2009, became a certified instructor by Krav Maga Worldwide, and earned his black belt in August 2019. Additionally, Quintin has trained in boxing since 2010. He has taught thousands of students, ranging from college students to entrepreneurs to members of the military and law enforcement. Quintin believes students can get the most out of their training by emphasizing strong fundamentals, attention to details and proper technique, and a disciplined approach and mindset.

Strength Training for Teens

Description: This class begins with cardio exercises to warm up the muscles, followed by strength training (resistance training), and ends with cool-down exercises. For teens, the focus is on multi-joint exercises that work more than one part of the body at a time. Participants will use weights, resistance bands, and their own body weight to develop muscular balance, coordination, and agility. This workout is perfect for teens wanting to further improve their athletic abilities. Participants should bring a towel and a bottle of water.
